Senior Power BI Developer

Location: North Dallas, TX (Onsite)

Compensation: $125,000 $150,000 annually (based on experience)

Position Summary:

We are seeking a Senior Power BI Developer to join our Data Insights & Analytics team. This role plays a key part in transforming complex insurance data into actionable intelligence through advanced dashboards, robust reports, and high-performing data models.

You will work closely with engineering, product, and business stakeholders to develop enterprise BI solutions using Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Azure SQL. In addition to your technical contributions, youll have a direct line of communication with product teams to influence the evolution of the tools you use every day.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and build advanced Power BI dashboards, reports, and paginated visualizations
• Develop and optimize data models using DAX, Power Query (M), and SQL
• Integrate Power BI with Azure data services including Azure Data Factory, Synapse, and Azure SQL
• Partner with stakeholders to define KPIs, gather business requirements, and shape reporting solutions
• Convert complex datasets into clear, interactive business insights
• Ensure performance and reliability through best practices in BI design and optimization
• Participate in solution architecture, code reviews, and mentoring of junior developers
• Stay informed on Power BI and Microsoft Fabric enhancements and apply relevant improvements
• Support live dashboards, troubleshoot performance issues, and resolve data inconsistencies

Key Skills & Expertise:

• Power BI: Expert in developing and deploying dashboards and reports
• Data Modeling: Proficient in DAX, Power Query (M), and dimensional modeling
• SQL: Strong experience with T-SQL and Azure SQL integrations
• Azure & Microsoft Fabric: Familiarity with Azure data tools and Fabric notebooks
• Performance Tuning: Ability to optimize queries, reports, and model performance

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• 5+ years of experience developing BI solutions with Power BI, DAX, and Power Query
• 3+ years working with Azure services including Synapse, Data Factory, and Azure SQL
• Proven ability to gather business requirements and deliver production-ready BI solutions
• Experience with Microsoft Fabric or similar analytics platforms is a strong plus
• Experience with Lloyds of London bordereaux data and regulatory insurance datasets is a strong plus
